Message from the Deputy Bureau Head

Climate Resilience, Natural Resources and Future Preparedness

Climate change continues to place increasing pressure on ecosystems, livelihoods, and public services across the Somali Regional State. Addressing these challenges requires informed planning, coordinated action, and responsible management of natural resources. The Bureau remains committed to strengthening climate resilience through research, early warning systems, ecosystem rehabilitation, and the promotion of adaptive and green solutions.

Through the work of the Climate Change and Forest Development directorates, efforts are underway to restore degraded landscapes, enhance forest and biodiversity management, and support communities in adapting to climate-related risks. These actions contribute to environmental sustainability, economic resilience, and long-term food and livelihood security.

Institutions, communities, and youth are encouraged to view environmental protection and climate action as investments in the future. Preparing today through conservation, responsible resource use, and innovation will reduce vulnerability and strengthen resilience for generations to come.
