On October 12, 2025, the third phase of the tree planting initiative at the Shabelle Tourism Center was officially launched at the site.

Under this third phase, 35,000 tree seedlings are being planted across an area of 14 hectares. The tree planting activity is being carried out jointly by officials and staff of the SRS Environmental Protection and Rural Land Administration Bureau (SRS.EPRLAB).

Speaking at the event, H.E. Abdikadir Mohammed Hassan, Deputy Bureau Head of the SRS Environmental Protection and Rural Land Administration Bureau (SRS.EPRLAB), stated that the strong efforts made during the first and second phases resulted in the successful establishment of most of the planted trees. He further emphasized that the third phase will focus on ensuring the survival and proper growth of the newly planted seedlings.

The initiative involves various tree species, and the third phase is being implemented with the participation of multiple regional-level offices, reflecting a coordinated approach to environmental conservation.
