On July 18, 2025, youth volunteers from various regions of the country, together with local youth groups and regional officials, carried out a series of community service activities in Jigjiga City as part of the National Summer Volunteer Program.
The activities, which included tree planting and blood donation, were conducted at Kaah Secondary School in Jigjiga. The initiative brought together youth participating in the national summer volunteer program alongside young people from the host city, demonstrating strong collaboration and civic engagement.
Speaking at the event, H.E. Eng. Muhyadin Abdi, Bureau Head of the SRS Environmental Protection and Rural Land Administration Bureau (SRS.EPRLAB), highlighted the important role played by youth arriving from different regions of the country. He noted that their participation is making a meaningful contribution to the volunteer activities being implemented in Jigjiga as part of the Green Legacy Program, which focuses on the development and conservation of natural resources for future generations.
The activities reflect the growing involvement of young people in environmental protection and community development initiatives, reinforcing the spirit of volunteerism and shared responsibility.
